CID Tackling Area Traffic

Efforts to improve the safety, capacity and traffic flow at the intersection of Hugh Howell Road (State Route 236) and Mountain Industrial Boulevard continue and may even speed up with added funding from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

Fall 2016 Property Owners Meeting

More than 60 property owners were represented at the October meeting of the Stone Mountain CID. Topics under discussion led to a great dialogue among the owners, company representatives and elected officials in attendance.

Emory Genetics Lab’s Massive Move Is Underway

The Emory Genetics Lab (EGL) started in 1970 for the study of genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology. Today EGL is preparing to open a brand-new facility in the CID to be the largest comprehensive genetic facility in the southeast.

Tucker Mayor Frank Auman

Tucker Mayor Frank Auman`s City Update

The first Mayor of Georgia’s newest city recently addressed a meeting of CID property owners on Tucker’s progress. In addition to hiring a code enforcement officer last month, Mayor Frank Auman said that CH2MHill and Interdev, two companies with experience setting up new cities, will help Tucker put its three services in place.

DeKalb County’s District 1 Commissioner Nancy Jester recently updated CID property owners on several issues related to DeKalb’s Watershed Management Department, including capacity issues and erroneous water bills.

Massive Road Project Likely to Impact CID

In the coming months, the Georgia Department of Transportation will launch the largest road improvement project in Georgia’s history, an undertaking that, while long overdue, will push traffic issues out to the next ring around Atlanta, which includes Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Mountain Industrial Boulevard.

Georgia Commute Options Offer Traffic Solutions

Georgia Commute Options, a program of the Georgia Department of Transportation, works to bring free programs and services to employees and employers across the metro Atlanta region. The program’s mission is to decrease traffic congestion and improve air quality through promotion of clean commute alternatives.
