CID Improves Roads, One Pothole At A Time

Stone Mountain CID-contracted crews from Leach Construction have taken advantage of the recent mild weather to complete some much-needed roadway improvements throughout the CID. New paving and other enhancements added 15 feet of turning space at the southwest corner of the North Royal Atlanta Drive and Lawrenceville Highway (U.S. 29) intersection.

CID Recognizes Officer of the Year

The CID was pleased to once again co-sponsor an appreciation luncheon for the officers of DeKalb County Police’s Tucker precinct in December. During this special event, the CID honored Lt. C. Howard as its Officer of the Year for her work to arrest suspected burglars who had been targeting businesses in the district.

A team of robotics students is using space in the Stone Mountain CID to hone their skills for competition in the FIRST Robotics Competition, (FRC) an international contest for high school students founded by Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway.

Emory Genetics Lab Moving; Grand Opening in Late Spring

EGL Genetics, formerly Emory Genetics Laboratory, (the joint venture between Belgium-based Eurofins Scientific and Atlanta’s Emory University) plans to have its new facility in the Stone Mountain CID fully operational in February.

City of Tucker Hearing on The Rise
