On June 16th, Scandinavian Tobacco Group joined WSB Family2Family to sponsor a fundraiser for the Ride to the Olympics Foundation. Leonard Wortzel, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development provided a cigar tasting of the company’s premiere products to an exclusive guest list of Atlanta’s top civic and business leaders. Throughout the evening, guests sampled the Caribbean’s best Cohiba Red Dot, Macanudo and Partagas cigars along with Captain Black Premium Pipe Tobacco produced right here in Scandinavian’s Tucker plant.
Scandinavian’s sponsorship of this event was arranged through SMCID’s Economic Development Coordinator Kimberly Krautter who is tasked with promoting member businesses in the community and through local, regional and national media.
Ride to the Olympics Foundation is sponsoring Miguel Wilson, Jr.’s quest to become the very first African American to join the United States Olympic Equestrian Team. The foundation is also providing day camps and equestrian training to disadvantaged youth around the nation. The event this month raised over $15,000 to fund Wilson’s summer competition and training with the top grand prix coaches in the U.S.
