Tucker Summit CID is sponsoring the Atlanta Press Club luncheon on The Future of Transit in the Atlanta Region — and How the Gwinnett–MARTA Vote Could Change the Landscape. The event, scheduled for Monday, March 11, will include TSCID president Emory Morsberger who will introduce the panelists, including: Doug Hooker, Atlanta Regional Commission executive director; Charlotte Nash, Gwinnett County Commission chair; Jeff Parker, MARTA CEO and general manager; and Chris Tomlinson, State Road & Tollway Authority (SRTA), Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) executive director and Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) interim executive director. Maria Saporta from Atlanta Business Chronicle and The Saporta Report will moderate the discussion.

The Atlanta Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon Series is open to the public, however the event is sold out.

Tucker and Transit

Seven metro Atlanta mayors have proposed an east-west transit line across the top of the perimeter that would connect Tucker to Smyrna. Still in the early planning stages, the city mayors have been championing the project and believe it to be cost-effective and more affordable than anticipated.

Tucker Manufacturing & Industry Day

The Tucker Summit CID, Tucker-Northlake CID and the City of Tucker are sponsoring Tucker Manufacturing & Industry Day on Wednesday, April 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The event will take place at the TSCID’s own Stone Ridge Event Center and will include breakfast with a panel of experts discussing the status of manufacturing and current operations in the City of Tucker. After the panel concludes, attendees will tour state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and operations, including Thermo Pac and Eurofins both located in TSCID as well as Sonnen and Steel Mart in the Tucker-Northlake CID.  Following the tour, attendees will return to Stone Ridge Event Center to enjoy lunch.

8th Annual Tucker Chili Cook-Off

The eighth annual Tucker Chili Cook-Off, hosted by the Old Town Tucker Merchants Association, will be held Saturday, March 9, in downtown Tucker from 12:30 – 5 p.m.Vote for your favorite chili, support Tucker businesses and help raise money for Day League (formerly DeKalb Rape Crisis Center).
